CNHS field excursions visit locations near to the City and include occasional Nature in my Neighbourhood walks.
The Cambridgeshire Flora Group usually has meetings through the summer whilst the Cambridgeshire group of the British Bryological Society has regular local meetings during the winter half of the year.
Field Study Meetings
Our field study meetings provide an opportunity to learn identification skills, and aim to create a comprehensive audit of local wildlife. They are suitable for beginners and anyone is welcome to come on them. In 2022 we revisit The Backs, which we surveyed in 2011. We plan to hold monthly field meetings which are listed in the diary. However, booking may be necessary, so please make sure you are on the mailing list.
Cambridge Natural History Society has been running annual field surveys of sites around Cambridge since 2004. A list with links to the survey reports and other documents is on the Local Sites page.
